HBO's critically acclaimed The Last of Us series is slated for a four-season run, according to an executive.

Francesca Orsi of HBO hinted at a four-season arc for the hit show, clarifying that while there's no finalized plan, "it's looking like" three additional seasons beyond the current one. Orsi stated to Deadline, "I wouldn't want to confirm that, but it's looking like this season and then two more seasons after this, and we're done."

Regarding the highly anticipated Season 2 premiere in April 2025, Orsi teased, "There are certain elements concerning the various factions vying for survival that emerge as a truly captivating survivalist group. Their presentation is distinctive." She added, "The show's approach to their wardrobe and makeup feels markedly different from the average character."

Those who missed Season 1 can still catch up before Season 2's April premiere. Unlike Season 1, which adapted the first game completely, HBO intends to spread The Last of Us Part 2 across multiple seasons, structuring Season 2 with a "natural breakpoint" after seven episodes.

Season 2 will introduce several new characters, including Kaitlyn Dever as Abby, Danny Ramirez as Manny, and Tati Gabrielle as Mel. Catherine O'Hara's role remains undisclosed.

IGN's review of The Last of Us Season 1 lauded it as "a stunning adaptation that will thrill newcomers and enrich the experience for those familiar with Joel and Ellie's journey," earning a 9/10 rating.
