"Back to the Future" will never get a sequel, prequel, or spinoff, says screenwriter Bob Gale.

Rumors circulated after "Cobra Kai" creators mentioned potential TV adaptations, but Gale remains firm: the iconic franchise won't continue.

Gale, who co-wrote the original trilogy with Robert Zemeckis, dismissed revival discussions in a recent interview with People.

"Why does this keep coming up?" he questioned. "Do they think repeating it enough will make it happen? Every interview ends with 'When's the next Back to the Future?' Our answer hasn't changed - never."

He added: "Zemeckis always said the films are 'perfect enough.' Some things should remain untouched."

Though Hollywood could theoretically revive the franchise, Gale insists executive producer Steven Spielberg would reject any proposals.

"Unless they threaten our families," Gale joked, "but Spielberg understands creative integrity. Like with E.T., he respects our decision."

The writer previously declared there would be no fourth installment, bluntly telling hopeful fans: "When asked about Back to the Future 4, our response remains unchanged."
