From the moment "Game of Thrones: Kingsroad" was announced, it faced a wave of skepticism. Many viewers immediately criticized its visuals, likening it to a relic from the PlayStation 3 era or a typical mobile game. Despite this, a hopeful minority clung to the belief that it could turn out well, especially given the scarcity of compelling games inspired by the iconic series.

The release of the demo during Steam Next Fest has now settled the debate once and for all—unfortunately, "Game of Thrones: Kingsroad" has not met expectations. Players have lambasted the game for its outdated combat mechanics, subpar graphics, and design choices that scream "mobile game". Some have even gone as far as to call it a direct port from mobile to PC. Regardless of whether it's a port or not, "Kingsroad" feels like a title that could have been released back in 2010.

Despite the overwhelmingly negative feedback, the demo's Steam page does feature some positive reviews. These comments, often phrased similarly such as "I really enjoyed the demo, looking forward to the full release," leave us questioning their authenticity. Are these the voices of bots or the same optimists who continue to hold out hope for a successful launch?

"Game of Thrones: Kingsroad" is slated for release on PC via Steam and on mobile devices, though an exact release date remains undisclosed.
