Genshin Impact 5.5 Now Supports Android Controllers
If you're an avid Genshin Impact player who enjoys the game on Android, we've got some exciting news for you. With Version 5.5, the long-awaited controller support is finally making its way to Android devices. It’s been a while coming—iOS players have enjoyed this feature since 2021—but now it's Android users’ turn to experience gameplay without relying on touchscreen controls.
When Will Controller Support Arrive on Android?
As of March 26th, 2025, you’ll be able to connect your preferred controller to your Android device and dive into Genshin Impact with enhanced control precision. The update will officially support four types of controllers: the DualShock 4, DualSense, Xbox Wireless Controller, and Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2. Please note that Bluetooth connectivity will be required for all supported controllers.
Beyond controller support, Version 5.5 introduces several notable quality-of-life enhancements. One major improvement is cross-scene quest tracking, allowing you to follow quests across different regions effortlessly. Simply open the map and teleport directly to your objective—no more backtracking headaches.
Additionally, the boss guides are getting a much-needed update, offering newer players clearer insights into enemy mechanics. The Artifact system, Serenitea Pot, and Mail system are also set to receive optimizations, although full details will be shared during the upcoming Special Program Announcement on March 14th, 2025.
