God of War continues to dominate as one of gaming's most cherished franchises, with recent installments receiving overwhelming praise. As the series approaches its monumental 20th anniversary, intriguing speculation swirls around potential surprises—including whispers of remastered editions for Kratos' earliest adventures. Gaming insider Jeff Grubb hints these announcements could arrive as early as March.

A Legend Returns?

The series' anniversary celebrations scheduled for March 15-23 seem like the perfect occasion to unveil revitalized versions of Kratos' Greek saga. Earlier reports from Tom Henderson suggested Santa Monica Studio might revisit Greek mythology with a new installment exploring Kratos' youth—a prequel concept that could synergize perfectly with remastered classics.

Sony's renewed interest in revitalizing legacy titles further fuels these rumors. Given that the original Greek-era God of War games were exclusive to older PlayStation platforms like PSP and PS Vita, bringing them back with modern enhancements would introduce these legendary adventures to a new generation.

Could these legendary titles finally return, reborn for modern hardware? The timing certainly feels right.
