GTA 6 Release Date 'Firmly Set' for Fall 2025
Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) remains on schedule for a Fall 2025 release, Take-Two Interactive, Rockstar Games' parent company, has confirmed. This was announced during their third-quarter financial results report (ending December 31, 2024), which listed GTA 6 for release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S that autumn. While acknowledging the inherent risk of delays, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick expressed confidence in the Fall 2025 timeframe.
He emphasized Rockstar's dedication to quality, stating that the company strives for perfection. While he refrained from guaranteeing the release date, he conveyed a positive outlook. The anticipated launch of GTA 6 has generated significant industry buzz, with competitors like EA acknowledging its potential impact on their release strategies.
The lack of a second trailer, over a year after the first, has fueled much fan speculation. Other points of ongoing discussion include the potential for a PC release and the game's performance on a hypothetical PS5 Pro.
Take-Two also highlighted the continued success of Grand Theft Auto 5, which has now sold over 210 million units globally. GTA Online also showed strong performance, boosted by the "Agents of Sabotage" update. Red Dead Redemption 2 has surpassed 70 million units sold and is experiencing record concurrent players on Steam.
Take-Two's 2025 release slate is packed, including Civilization VII, PGA Tour 2K25, WWE 2K25, Mafia: The Old Country, and Borderlands 4, alongside the highly anticipated GTA 6. The company expressed strong confidence in the commercial success of its upcoming titles.
