GTA 6: S-Tier Potential? Ranking All Rockstar Games
The new GTA 6 trailer has landed, and if you missed it, we've broken down all the secrets and details for you. Unfortunately, we'll need to wait until May 26, 2026, to dive into Lucia and Jason's story. While we wait, let's take a nostalgic trip through the Rockstar games we've enjoyed over the years and rank them just for fun!
Rockstar Games has been a powerhouse in the gaming industry since its inception in 1998, delivering over 30 games, including iconic franchises like Grand Theft Auto, Red Dead Redemption, and Manhunt. But which of these titles reigns supreme? Note that this list focuses solely on games developed by Rockstar, excluding published titles like LA Noire or Max Payne 2. I've ranked them using an IGN Tier List, based on my personal enjoyment over the years. Check out my tier list below:

Red Dead Redemption 2 easily secures the S-tier as my all-time favorite game. It's joined by its predecessor and GTA 5, both of which have revolutionized the cinematic open-world genre. I also have a special fondness for Max Payne 3 with its iconic bullet time mechanics, and GTA San Andreas, which I played at an age I probably shouldn't have. At the bottom of the list, in the D-tier, sit titles like Austin Powers: Oh, Behave! and Welcome to My Underground Lair!—games that few would willingly revisit.
If you disagree with my rankings, perhaps thinking Vice City outshines GTA 4, feel free to create your own tier list below. Compare your S, A, B, C, and D tiers with the entire IGN community.
