The much-anticipated PC release of Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced, Rockstar's next-generation update to the iconic open-world game, is now available. This enhanced version offers PC gamers a significantly upgraded experience with notable graphical improvements and new features, including full DualSense controller support.

Key enhancements include ray-traced reflections, revamped vehicle designs, and numerous smaller tweaks that boost the game's visual quality. The popular YouTube channel GameV recently provided a side-by-side comparison, illustrating the graphical evolution from the original release over the last 12 years. The improvements are most striking during rainy nights or in shadowy areas, where advanced global illumination and ray-traced reflections make a significant impact. However, under sunny conditions, the differences between the base game and the enhanced version are less noticeable.

Despite a strong launch, with over 187,000 concurrent players on Steam—exceeding the recent peak of 184,000 for the standard edition—the reception has been mixed. Currently, the game has achieved only a 56% positive review rating on Steam. Many players have expressed doubts about the need for this update, citing the relatively subtle visual enhancements. Further criticism includes issues with DualSense functionality and glitches encountered when transferring characters from the original GTA Online. While some users have successfully transferred their characters, others are still dealing with persistent bugs.
