Locating the Signal Redirector in Atomfall

The Signal Redirector is a unique device in Atomfall, not available through traders or found on random bodies like the Metal Detector. It’s located in a specific spot connected to a key character, Dr. Diane Garrow, a former B.A.R.D scientist.

After learning Dr. Garrow’s whereabouts in Wyndham Village, you must rescue her. She’s held captive deep within the Protocol prison camp in Skethermoor.

Reaching the prison is tough due to heavy patrols by Protocol soldiers. To ease your infiltration, first meet Captain Grant Sims in Wyndham Village. Assist him with tasks like retrieving stolen goods to gain temporary favor with the Protocol forces.

When prepared, head to the Protocol prison camp at Skethermoor’s southern edge. The underground prison entrance lies at the end of the southernmost road, behind a large green door.

The prison spans multiple levels, requiring you to navigate past guards and robots. Note that B.A.R.D robots can be disabled to collect Atomic Batteries, essential for The Interchange.

Proceed to the prison’s lowest level, past the dig site. Dr. Garrow is confined in a standalone cell in the main room. To free her, grab the Signal Redirector from a shelf in the nearby Storage room. Securing it earns you the ‘Reverse the Polarity’ trophy/achievement.

Developed by Dr. Garrow, the Signal Redirector is a hacking device that reroutes power in yellow junction boxes, enabling you to disable security systems or unlock storage rooms.

Like the Metal Detector, the Signal Redirector alerts you with an on-screen icon when a hackable junction box is nearby. Follow the device’s needle to locate the box, which highlights when you’re close.

Press the ‘Hack’ button to redirect the junction box’s power. You can reverse the process by hacking it again if needed.

This tool allows you to free Dr. Garrow from her cell, advancing her storyline if you choose to escape with her.
