Guide: Securing All Dark Instruments in Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii
In *Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii*, Goro Majima showcases his versatility with two unique fighting styles, one of which is the "Sea Dog" pirate style that comes with four powerful finishers perfect for taking down crowds. However, unlocking all the dark instruments in the game requires a significant effort and dedication.
How To Obtain The Dark God’s Violin in Pirate Yakuza
The Dark God’s Violin is your first Dark Instrument to unlock in *Pirate Yakuza* and is essential for progressing the main storyline. This quest becomes available in Chapter 2 when Jason, a crew member, guides you to meet an old friend. Unfortunately, the Devil Flag pirates have already struck, killing Jason’s friend and stealing the priceless Pharoh Stone.
Following this tragedy, you'll meet Misaki, the orphaned daughter seeking vengeance for her father’s death. Joining the Goro Pirates, she sets the stage for the side story. To unlock the Dark God’s Violin, follow the questline to the islands east of Madlantis, where you'll face a formidable enemy fleet of Devil Flag pirates. Concentrate your attacks on the boss ship to advance to the next stage of the fight onboard their vessel. Upon defeating the Devil Flags, you'll secure the Dark God’s Violin and have the chance to test its prowess in a 100-enemy brawl on the island.
After the brawl, a cutscene introduces the captains of the massive fleet: Yakuza, Ronin, Shinobi, and Zeus, who challenge the Goro Pirates. While not required for the main story, defeating these captains is essential for collecting all the Dark Instruments.
How To Obtain The Dark God’s Ocarina in Pirate Yakuza
After obtaining the Dark God’s Violin and engaging in the initial 100-enemy brawl, you'll start noticing special Devil Flag markers across the waters you navigate in *Pirate Yakuza*. Defeating these ships earns you Devil Flags, crucial for advancing. To unlock the next Dark Instrument, the Dark God’s Ocarina, you need to accumulate 70 Devil Flags. Engage with any Devil Flag ships or treasure islands you encounter to gather them quickly.
Once you have 70 flags, Atali Island will become available on your map. Prepare a robust landing party for this mission, as you'll face multiple waves of attackers before reaching the treasure chest containing the Dark God’s Ocarina. To claim it, you must first defeat Devil Flag Captain Yakuza in a boss fight, after which the Ocarina will be yours.

How To Obtain The Dark God’s Guitar in Pirate Yakuza
After defeating Captain Yakuza, a series of cutscenes and new objectives will lead you to an island where the Pharoh Stone is supposedly hidden. However, it turns out to be a trap, triggering another 100-enemy fight. This is an excellent opportunity to test out the Dark God’s Ocarina.
Following this, you'll learn that Zeus is heading to Flame Island. To reach this next challenging stage, ensure you have at least a three-star ranking and 130 Devil Flags. Navigate to the Flame Entrance Lighthouse to trigger a cutscene, and then conquer four treasure islands: Sunset, Heatwave, Welldone, and Scorching Heat. Remember, treasure islands restrict the use of health items, so upgrade Goro and his landing crew accordingly.
After navigating through these islands, you'll face another fleet battle. Focus on defeating the boss ship, then board it to defeat the first mate. With this accomplished, you can land on Flame Island with Jason, Masaru, Minami, and Saejima for the best chance of success. Overcome several smaller battles and finally confront Captain Ronin. Utilize your Dark Instruments to defeat him and claim the Dark God of the Earth’s Guitar from the treasure chest.
How To Obtain the Dark God’s Saxophone in Pirate Yakuza
The final Dark Instrument, the Dark God’s Saxophone, requires a Pirate Rank Four to unlock. Engage in main story missions, recruit new crew members, and participate in mini-games and side quests to boost your rank. Additionally, you'll need to collect at least 220 Devil Flags.
Head to the Frost Entrance Lighthouse to trigger another cutscene and engage with the Devil Flag fleet blocking the path to Frost Island. There are four additional islands to plunder for more Devil Flags: Snowview, Coldwave, Icicle Island, and Glacial.
Defeat Captain Shinobi’s First Fleet to proceed to Frost Island, where you'll encounter several battles leading to a cave and a recovery area. After recovering, face Captain Shinobi in the final boss fight. Upon defeating him, a cutscene will play where Zeus takes Misaki hostage, and you'll obtain the Dark God’s Saxophone.
The final encounter involves defeating Zeus to rescue Misaki. This two-stage battle is the most challenging in the game and requires a nearly fully upgraded Goromaru. Completing this fight isn't necessary for obtaining the Dark Instruments, but it's a fitting end to the journey.
And that's how you obtain all Dark Instruments in *Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii*.
*Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii is available now on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.*
