As part of an exciting collaboration with Fujifilm’s Instax, Final Fantasy XIV's Patch 7.18 introduces a unique new emote—the “Photograph” emote. This charming addition is available to all players at no cost, allowing you to simulate photography anywhere in Eorzea.
Unlike other emotes in the game, which are often locked behind quest objectives or require a purchase, the “Photograph” emote is automatically added to your Emote menu upon logging in after the update. Simply ensure you have downloaded the latest patch, and the emote will be ready for use. No level or expansion purchase is required to enjoy this feature.

To use the Photograph emote, navigate to your Emote menu under the “Social” tab. You'll find the “Photograph” emote near the bottom of the list under the “General” tab. Select it, and your character will pull out a Fujifilm-style camera to take a Polaroid picture. For frequent use, consider adding it to your Favorites.
Although the Photograph emote is not continuous and not ideal for “AFK” activities, it's versatile enough to be used in various scenarios and environments. You can capture moments underwater in locations like the Ruby Sea or atop a mount, whether grounded or flying. This emote can lead to some intriguing, Inception-style poses with your characters.
Patch 7.18 is the final update before the content-rich Patch 7.2, scheduled for late March. Players can anticipate new dungeons, a revisit to the Arcadion, Cosmic Exploration, and more.
