Hyper Light Breaker: How to Get Golden Rations
Hyper Light Breaker: A Guide to Acquiring Golden Rations
Hyper Light Breaker features several resources, with Golden Rations being the rarest and crucial for significant upgrades. This guide clarifies their acquisition.
Where to Find Golden Rations
Golden Rations are primarily obtained through two methods: exploration and cycle resets.
Exploration: While traversing the game world, keep an eye out for chest icons on your map. These chests often contain resources, and some may hold Golden Rations. A Golden Ration icon above a chest indicates its presence. Areas containing Prisms (marked by golden diamond icons) frequently have nearby chests containing these valuable rations.
Cycle Resets: Each playthrough of the Overgrowth constitutes a cycle. Cycles reset when your Rez count hits zero. Upon running out of revives, you can choose to retry the map (losing some resources) or reset the cycle at the Cursed Outpost. Successful cycle resets, based on your performance score, reward you with Golden Rations upon ranking up.
Golden Ration Uses
Golden Rations are essential for progression in Hyper Light Breaker. Their primary function is unlocking permanent upgrades at your home base. These upgrades enhance your character or unlock new vendor services.
Furthermore, Golden Rations unlock Sycoms. Sycoms define your Breaker's stats and passive abilities, significantly impacting their playstyle.
Prioritization: Upon obtaining your first Golden Ration, prioritize purchasing the extra medkit upgrade from Pherus Bit. This significantly aids survivability, mitigating the game's harsh penalty for combat errors. Remember, resources are retained upon death, but equipped weapons, amps, and perks sustain damage, potentially leading to permanent loss.
