Hyper Light Breaker: Guide to All Resources - Acquisition and Uses
Quick Links
In Hyper Light Breaker, mastering the game involves collecting seven distinct resources, each vital for acquiring gear, unlocking permanent upgrades, enhancing survivability, and expanding your character roster. Understanding how to obtain and utilize these resources can be a bit tricky at first, but with this guide, you'll gain a comprehensive grasp of all seven resources in Hyper Light Breaker.
All resources can be monitored under the items tab in the inventory menu, ensuring you always have a clear view of your current holdings.
How to Get & Use Bright Blood in Hyper Light Breaker
Bright Blood is the most abundant resource in Hyper Light Breaker. You can gather it by defeating enemies, smashing destructible objects, and unlocking crates scattered throughout the Overgrowth. Additionally, you can earn more Bright Blood by selling gear to vendors in the Hub.
Bright Blood serves multiple purposes:
- Collect Blades and Rails from fallen enemies in the Overgrowth.
- Unlock Stashes and other crates within the Overgrowth.
- Purchase new gear from vendors both in the Overgrowth and the Hub.
- Upgrade your gear at the Hub's vendors.
How to Get & Use Gold Ration in Hyper Light Breaker
Gold Rations are earned by completing Cycles. Early on, you'll likely finish Cycles by exhausting your four Rezes. After using up all your Rezes, head to the Telepad in the Hub where you'll find an NPC. Hand over the requested materials to reset the Overgrowth and make progress toward earning Gold Rations.
Gold Rations are crucial for the game's meta-progression. They allow you to unlock permanent upgrades at Pherus Bit in the Hub. Moreover, you can use Gold Rations to unlock new services by giving them to the Hub's vendors.
How to Get & Use Abyss Stone in Hyper Light Breaker
Abyss Stones are acquired by defeating Crowns, formidable bosses accessible through gates in the Overgrowth. To challenge these bosses, you'll first need to collect Prisms, which are marked by yellow diamonds on the map.
Abyss Stones, like Gold Rations, contribute to meta-progression. Use them to upgrade your Sycom's stats and unlock new characters during loadout confirmation before entering the Overgrowth, giving you an edge in future runs.
How to Get & Use Key in Hyper Light Breaker
Keys can be found in small, unmarked containers within the Overgrowth, making them a bit challenging to locate consistently.
Keys are essential for bypassing barriers in the Overgrowth, granting access to Stashes and other valuable loot. They also unlock Labs, underground areas filled with enemies and collectibles.
How to Get & Use MediGem in Hyper Light Breaker
MediGems are crucial resources obtained from glowing flowers in the Overgrowth. They are exchanged for Medkits at the Hub's Telepad or at Shrines in the Overgrowth.
Before using MediGems, you must increase your Medkit capacity to one. Visit Pherus Bit in the Hub and spend one Gold Ration to unlock the Medkit Capacity node.
How to Get & Use Core in Hyper Light Breaker
Cores are another meta-progression resource found in the Overgrowth's Stashes, marked by chest icons on the map. You can also create Cores by combining four Core Shards, which are dropped by Prism-yielding enemies or found in unmarked objects like bone piles.
Cores allow you to upgrade your Sycom during loadout confirmation before entering the Overgrowth, enhancing your Breakers' stats.
How to Get & Use Material in Hyper Light Breaker
Materials are mostly obtained by using Bright Blood to unlock small chests in the Overgrowth, often marked by gems on the map. You can also acquire additional Materials by selling gear to vendors in the Hub.
Materials are used to purchase gear from vendors in the Hub and the Overgrowth, similar to Bright Blood but with more limited applications.
