"Indiana Jones PS5 Port Set for 2025 Release"
Excitement is building around the highly anticipated action-adventure game, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, developed by MachineGames and published by Xbox's Bethesda. Recent reports suggest that this thrilling title could be making its way to the PlayStation 5 in the first half of 2025, following its initial launch on Xbox Series X/S and PC later this year.
Insider and Reports Claim a 2025 PS5 Release for Indiana Jones
According to industry insider Nate the Hate, who has a track record of revealing details about Microsoft’s multi-platform strategies, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is set to debut as a timed console exclusive on Xbox during the 2024 holiday season. Following this exclusivity period, the game is slated to arrive on the PS5 in the first half of 2025. Nate the Hate shared this information on Twitter (X), stating, "MachineGames' Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will release on Xbox & PC this holiday (Dec) as a timed console exclusive. After this timed-exclusive window expires, Indiana Jones & the Great Circle is planned to come to PlayStation 5 in the first half of 2025."
These claims have been corroborated by Insider Gaming, which mentioned that several media outlets have received similar information under non-disclosure agreements (NDAs).
Xbox Could Expand Major Releases to PlayStation
Microsoft and Xbox have been exploring the idea of broadening the availability of their major titles beyond their own platforms. Earlier reports from The Verge indicated that Bethesda and Microsoft were considering expanding releases of significant Xbox games like Indiana Jones and Starfield to other platforms. While Microsoft initially secured exclusivity for these titles after acquiring Bethesda, there are now signs that the company is open to bringing select flagship titles to competing platforms like the PlayStation.
This strategy is not new for Xbox; titles such as Sea of Thieves, Hi-Fi Rush, Pentiment, and Grounded have already been made available on rival platforms as part of Xbox's "Xbox Everywhere" initiative. It appears there is no firm "red line" preventing future Xbox first-party games from launching on the PlayStation.
Gamers eager for more details about Indiana Jones and the Great Circle should mark their calendars for Gamescom Opening Night Live on August 20. Hosted by Geoff Keighley, the event promises a deeper look at the game and could potentially reveal its release date. Alongside Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, other major titles such as COD: Black Ops 6, MH Wilds, Civ 7, Marvel Rivals, and Dune: Awakening will also be showcased.
