Indus Surpasses Milestone with 5 Million Downloads
Indus, the Indian-made battle royale shooter, surpasses five million Android downloads and 100,000 iOS downloads within two months of its launch. This achievement follows a successful international playtest in Manila and a Google Play Best Made in India Game 2024 award win.
SuperGaming, the developer, aims to establish Indus as a leading Indian gaming title, surpassing competitors like FAU-G: Domination. The Manila playtest at the YGG Play Summit provided valuable feedback from international esports players.
Further bolstering its esports ambitions, SuperGaming launched the Clutch India Movement, featuring the Indus International Tournament. Running from October 2024 to February 2025, this tournament boasts a prize pool of INR 2.5 crores (approximately $31,000 USD).
Significant Growth, Future Potential
While Indus's five million downloads fall slightly short of its ten million pre-registrations (a common occurrence), the figures still represent considerable success. The lower iOS download numbers suggest a need for further engagement with that player base.
Despite this, SuperGaming's proactive approach, including international playtests and an esports tournament, demonstrates ambitious plans for Indus's future development.
