Infinity Nikki Version 1.5 Controversy: Compensation Offered and Developer's Response

In the world of Infinity Nikki, the release of version 1.5 sparked a wave of anticipation among fans, but the update fell short of the promised improvements, leading to widespread disappointment. Developer Infold Games took to Twitter (X) on May 18 to address these concerns, acknowledging the "unstable game environment and unsatisfactory content" and announcing a compensation plan to mitigate player frustration.

Infinity Nikki Version 1.5 Updates

Free Diamonds as Compensation

Version 1.5 introduced numerous technical glitches and bugs across various platforms, rendering the game unplayable for some. The update also brought unexpected changes, such as increasing the cost of 5-star outfits from 9 or 10 pieces to 11 pieces, thereby raising the maximum number of pulls needed to complete an outfit to 220. This adjustment made acquiring full sets more challenging and costly for players.

Moreover, a new dye system was implemented, which players found overly complex and time-consuming due to the necessity of unlocking color palettes for each clothing item. The removal of the Threads of Reunion storyline added to the confusion, as the outfit linked to this event remains in development. Infold Games admitted, "Due to technical hurdles in Version 1.5, we were unable to properly refine the introduction of the Sea of Stars chapter and the narrative setup for Threads of Reunion, which regrettably led to confusion."

In response to the outcry, Infold Games offered compensation, stating, "As compensation for Version 1.5's shortcomings and schedule changes, all stylists will receive Diamond *120 and Energy Crystal *1 every day from June 5 to June 12, totaling Diamond *960 and Energy Crystal *8." Despite this gesture, the studio has yet to outline concrete plans to address the ongoing issues, prompting fans to voice their concerns about the pity system changes, the dye system's failure, and other bugs.

Delayed Version 1.6

The rocky release of version 1.5 has led to the decision to extend its lifecycle, thereby delaying version 1.6 until June 12, 2025. This delay impacts the in-game events' schedule, including the new weekly task Starlit Pursuit, originally set for May 20. Infold Games explained, "This delay allows us to refine task mechanics for a smoother experience. Additional details will be announced at a later date—please stay tuned." As compensation for this delay, players will receive 360 Starlit Crystals.

More Unlisted Adjustments On The Way

Infold Games is actively working on a range of unlisted adjustments to address the myriad issues introduced in version 1.5. "There are also unlisted adjustments under discussion. Some changes require extended development cycles, but we commit to implementing them through phased updates," the developers stated.

To enhance communication with the community, Infold Games is launching the Miraland Round Table initiative, allowing players to directly share their concerns and feedback. Participants can reach out via the game's official email account, using "Table Advisor" in the subject line, or through the Customer Service option in-game.

Expressing a mix of guilt and gratitude, Infold Games remains committed to improving Infinity Nikki, promising to make the game "shine brighter than ever."
