Infinity Nikki Fans Threaten to Quit Over Controversial Update 1.5 Changes

May 04,25

Infinity Nikki and its much-anticipated 1.5 update have arrived on Steam, but the launch has been overshadowed by a cascade of technical issues, controversial design changes, and demanding outfit requirements. Infold Games' fashionable dress-up adventure made its debut on Valve's digital platform after months of exclusivity on the Epic Game Store. Instead of a joyous celebration, fans were met with frustration. The developers have issued an apology and promised compensation, yet the struggle for a better Infinity Nikki experience continues.

PC players eagerly anticipated diving into the Steam version but were quickly disappointed by numerous technical glitches, including crashes and overall instability. While launch issues are not uncommon, the community's dissatisfaction went beyond mere performance problems.

The introduction of two new five-star outfits, Snowbound Ballad and Undying Ember, each consisting of 11 pieces, has sparked outrage. This means players might need up to 220 pulls to complete these sets, a significant increase from what they are accustomed to. This unexpected change has led to fears that future outfit requirements will escalate even further.

Adding to the confusion, Infold extended the Crown of Miraland: Peak Arena event from two to three weeks. This decision, coupled with ongoing technical problems and perceived aggressive monetization tactics, prompted a strong reaction from the Chinese player base. They took to the social media platform RedNote, and the issue quickly escalated into a global movement. Players worldwide are now urging others to boycott Infinity Nikki on Steam, leave negative reviews, and uninstall the game across all platforms.

"Holding back your pulls for a couple of days can help show we want IN to remain fun and fair for all players," said Reddit user kiaxxl in a call-to-action post. "For gacha games, tracking how successful a new batch of content is usually measured on the first few days. Holding back your pulls for a couple of days can help show we want IN to remain fun and fair for all players."

The community's response has been impactful, with Infinity Nikki currently holding a "Mixed" rating on Steam due to negative reviews cautioning potential players to wait for improvements. The situation escalated to the point where Infold issued an apology letter across its official channels, acknowledging and addressing some of the technical issues. The company also promised better communication about future changes.

"Thank you again for your support," Infold's message reads. "We know we still have shortcomings, but it’s because of your companionship that Nikki can keep pushing the boundaries of imagination. Please give us another chance to let Nikki’s starlight continue shining for all of us, ensuring our sincerity never fades."

The apology included plans to revert the Mira Crown event to end on May 16 and start the next season on the same day, along with compensation of 10 Revelation Crystals, 10 Resonance Crystals, and 1200 Diamonds. While these steps are seen as progress, they fall short of the comprehensive changes many players hoped for.

Some players celebrated the quick response from Infold, but concerns linger, particularly about the decision to maintain the 11-piece outfit requirement for new five-star outfits. Despite promises of improved communication, it seems that future outfits may still demand this high number of pieces.

"I wish you would finally change the drop rate.. it can't be that I need 200 pulls to get a 5-star and then you drop like 5 banners within weeks?! Make the rate lower or give us more diamonds to be able to get crystals.. this is not fun!" tweeted Denise92 (@nikkie92denise).

The community is now rallying to keep the pressure on Infold. As Reddit user EdensAsmr pointed out, "Think about it: CN players are pointing out that if we accept the 11-piece outfits and pity as it is, most new 5 stars will be 11 pieces. Imagine if every new major update has two 11-piece 5-star banners? That means you have to save even more to be able to handle it, and 70-80 pulls per patch will not cut it."

Despite the turmoil, the Infinity Nikki 1.5 update is now live, and players can find all the necessary details in our Infinity Nikki 1.5 Bubble Season hub. There are opportunities to get 100 free pulls and new codes for rewards like Resonance Crystals and Diamonds.
