Insomniac Games Pitched Resistance 4, But Never Got It Approved

Insomniac Games almost gave us Resistance 4. While a pitch was made by the developers, including founder and retiring president Ted Price, the project never got the green light due to timing and market factors. Price recently revealed this in an interview with Kinda Funny Games, expressing his disappointment. He noted the team's passion for the series and its potential, believing the Resistance universe, with its alternate history and Chimera aliens, offered rich storytelling opportunities.

The Resistance series, a trio of PlayStation 3 first-person shooters, followed Insomniac's Ratchet & Clank games. Set in a 1951 alternate history where aliens invade the UK, the series concluded before Insomniac shifted focus to titles like Marvel's Spider-Man and new Ratchet & Clank installments.

Price's recent retirement announcement after 30 years at Insomniac Games saw Chad Dezern, Ryan Schneider, and Jen Huang named as his successors as Co-Studio Heads. The studio's latest release is the PC version of Marvel's Spider-Man 2, with Marvel's Wolverine next on the horizon.
