Apex ALGS Year 4 Championships to be Held in Sapporo, Japan from Jan.29 to Feb. 2, 2025
This tournament is a first for the ALGS, which has previously been hosted in the US, UK, Sweden, and Germany. EA highlighted the significance of this event, stating, "This year will be extra special as we are having our first LAN event in APAC." The choice of Japan as the host country is particularly meaningful due to the large and passionate Apex Legends community there. John Nelson, EA's senior director of Esports, expressed his excitement, saying, "ALGS has a very large community in Japan, and we have seen many comments calling for an offline event in Japan. That's why we couldn't be more pleased to celebrate this milestone with an offline tournament held at the iconic Daiwa House Premist Dome."
Further details on the tournament, including ticketing information, will be announced at a later date. Sapporo Mayor Katsuhiro Akimoto expressed his honor and enthusiasm, stating, "We are extremely honored that the Daiwa House Premist Dome has been selected as the venue for this global e-sports tournament. The entire city of Sapporo will be supporting your tournament and we would like to wholeheartedly welcome all the athletes, officials, and fans."
As the ALGS Year 4 Championships in Sapporo approaches, fans should mark their calendars for the Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ), set to occur from September 13 to 15, 2024. The LCQ offers teams a final chance to qualify for the championship. Fans can watch the action unfold and discover the final qualifiers during the LCQ broadcast on the official @PlayApex Twitch channel.
