KEMCO Launches Card Deck-Building Roguelite Novel Rogue on Android
KEMCO's latest Android release, Novel Rogue, is a captivating pixel-art fantasy JRPG with roguelite elements and card deck-building mechanics. This enchanting title immerses players in a world brimming with books, magic, and strategic combat. The intriguing storylines add another layer of depth to the gameplay experience.
Players assume the role of Wright, a young apprentice under the tutelage of Yuisil, the Witch of Portals, within the Ancient Library. Wright's journey involves delving into the narratives of four magical books, each transporting him to a unique and distinct world.
One book leads to a quest aiding a princess knight in reclaiming her fallen kingdom, while another plunges players into the enigmatic mysteries of the underworld. The dynamic nature of the game ensures that each playthrough offers a fresh and unpredictable experience, as player choices significantly impact the unfolding worlds.
Gameplay Mechanics:
Novel Rogue's core gameplay revolves around a turn-based card battle system that adapts based on the chosen book. Each of the four worlds presents its own unique deck-building system. Players defeat enemies, select from three new cards after each battle, and strategically craft their ultimate deck.
Additional features enhance the gameplay: a "Change" command allows players to redistribute damage among allies; "Novel Power" enables deck strengthening using ink; and "Deep Record" mode significantly increases dungeon difficulty for a more challenging experience.
Players accumulate treasures to cultivate relationships with characters, unlocking a special ending upon reaching a certain level of rapport. "Witch Stones" provide a cosmetic element, allowing players to customize character costumes.
Novel Rogue is available for free on the Google Play Store. A premium version offers 150 bonus Witch Stones and additional benefits, such as an ad-free experience.
