Should You Kill Jakesh in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2? (Bad Blood Quest Guide)
In *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, the side quest "Bad Blood" offers a deep dive into the lives of its characters. Here's a comprehensive guide on how to start and complete this engaging quest.
How to Start Bad Blood in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2
To begin the "Bad Blood" quest, you'll need to progress through the main storyline until you're tasked with finding Mutt. Your journey will lead you to a clearing near Bozhena's hut, where Henry will suggest checking if Bozhena has any information. Visit Bozhena and inquire about Mutt; she'll reveal that her daughter, Pavlena, is missing. Agree to assist her, and the "Bad Blood" quest will be added to your journal.
Gather Information
Start by heading to Troskowitz and speaking with Bailiff Thrush, followed by a conversation with Innkeeper Betty at the tavern. They'll provide insights into Bozhena and Pavlena's past, explaining their expulsion from the village and the reasons behind the community's disdain. Next, travel to the designated area to talk to the woodcutters. Find Woodcutter Dushko and follow his lead to Roman's house. Remember to save your game before attempting to lockpick Roman's door. Inside, inspect Pavlena's basket, then return to Dushko for further directions to a clearing near Roman's house, a favorite spot of the couple.
Search the Scene
From Roman's house, follow the objective marker downhill towards the stream, then turn left at the two large boulders to reach the spot. You'll discover a blood trail leading to Roman's lifeless body. Continue uphill to speak with Hogherd Hugo, then head back to the farm in Troskowitz and engage with Hired Hand Straw. Successfully passing a dialogue check with Straw will reveal crucial details about Jakesh and the true events involving Roman and Pavlena. You can also consult with Thrush about Straw's fate. After gathering all necessary information, proceed to the rocks south of Zhelejov to further your investigation.
Confront Ota
Navigate the objective area, circling the large boulder until you find a path. Ascend the ladder to encounter Ota and Pavlena. With sufficient Charisma, you can persuade Ota to release Pavlena by choosing the following dialogue options: "What's your name?", "Let her go and I'll let you go," and "I'll put in a good word for you with His Lordship." Once Ota complies, Pavlena will take matters into her own hands, killing him. After the confrontation, accompany Pavlena back to Bozhena, who will then request that you deal with Jakesh.
Kill Jakesh or Make Peace
For the quest's final stage, you have the option to either eliminate Jakesh or broker peace between him and Bozhena. Locate Jakesh at his child's grave on the farm. You can choose to kill him or engage in dialogue to resolve the conflict peacefully. Alternatively, you could opt to kill Bozhena instead, though this will alter the quest's outcome. In my playthrough, I chose to kill Jakesh and reported back to Bozhena for a reward.
Should You Kill Jakesh?
Opting to kill Jakesh will negatively impact your reputation in Troskowitz, but it will significantly boost your standing with Bozhena and Pavlena. You'll unlock new dialogue options with Pavlena and receive a necklace that was a gift from Roman. Conversely, if you choose to spare Jakesh and facilitate peace, he will reward you with 100 groschen. When reporting back to Bozhena, you can decide whether to keep the money or share it, allowing Bozhena and Pavlena to return to the settlement.
Completing the "Bad Blood" quest in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2* not only enriches your understanding of the game's characters but also offers rewarding outcomes based on your choices.
