Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is canceled for being subpoenaed and progressive
Activists have targeted the upcoming Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 following the discovery of subpoenas within the game's code, sparking a campaign to cancel the project.
The controversy gained traction after reports of KCD 2's ban in Saudi Arabia surfaced online, fueling speculation about the game's content and alleged "progressive" themes. This led to a wave of online attacks against the developers, with calls to boycott the game and punish the studio for its perceived ideological leanings.
Warhorse Studios' PR manager, Tobias Stolz-Zwilling, responded to the controversy, urging the public to rely on official statements and to avoid spreading misinformation found online.
Stolz-Zwilling confirmed that review codes would be distributed in the coming days, following the game's "gold master" status achieved in early December. These codes are expected to be released approximately four weeks prior to launch, allowing streamers and reviewers ample time to prepare their content.
Interestingly, initial "final previews," based on review copies, are anticipated just one week after the distribution of these codes.
