LEGO Unveils Massive 3-Foot Jurassic Park T-Rex Skeleton Set
LEGO has just unveiled its largest Jurassic World set to date: a colossal T-rex skeleton that spans over three feet in length. This impressive set comes complete with minifigures of Dr. Ellie Sattler and Dr. Alan Grant, beloved characters from the original Jurassic Park film, where the skeleton is famously displayed in the visitor center. Priced at $249.99, the set will be available starting March 12 for LEGO Insiders (sign up for free here) and March 15 for the general public at the LEGO Store.
LEGO Jurassic World Dinosaur Fossils: Tyrannosaurus Rex
Release Date: March 15 (March 12 for Insiders)
Price: $249.99
Pieces: 3,145
Ages: 18+
Dimensions: L: 105cm (41.3in) / H: 33cm (12.9in)
This set, comprising 3,145 pieces, is tailored for adults aged 18 and above, making it ideal for display rather than play. It may incorporate advanced building techniques that could challenge younger builders.
It's challenging to grasp the scale of this set from images alone. The inclusion of Dr. Grant and Dr. Sattler minifigures provides some perspective, but the fully assembled skeleton truly measures over three feet long. The skull of this set closely resembles the LEGO T-rex skull currently available (which my son built and looks fantastic), but the addition of the entire skeleton significantly enhances the overall impact of this new set.

The dinosaur skeleton features articulated joints, allowing for various posing options. The head can move, the jaw can open, and the arms and tail can be adjusted. Like many LEGO movie-themed sets, it includes hidden Easter eggs to discover during the build process. Additionally, it comes with a display stand and an informational plaque detailing the T-rex's diet, habitat, and more.

While LEGO's Jurassic World collection may not be as extensive as its LEGO Star Wars or LEGO Harry Potter lines, it is rapidly expanding. Personally, I'm excited to see more adult-oriented LEGO sets like this T-rex skeleton added to the lineup in the future.
