The C4 is the 2024 model in LG's mid-range C-series OLED lineup. Compared to non-OLED televisions, an OLED TV delivers superior picture quality, near-infinite blacks, a near-infinite contrast ratio, and near-instantaneous pixel response times. Thanks to these advantages, the Evo OLED TV is exceptional at displaying 4K HDR content exactly as the creators intended. The C4 utilizes LG's proprietary Evo panel, which provides higher brightness levels and contrast ratios compared to traditional W-OLED TVs (similar to the QD-OLED panels found on Samsung TVs). The LG brand is particularly trusted because its OLED TVs have been on the market for years and benefit from multiple generations of refinements and optimizations.

The LG C4 is also packed with all the features you'd want in a gaming television. It boasts a native 120Hz panel that can be overclocked to 144Hz, and all four of its HDMI ports are 2.1 spec, allowing for 4K gaming at up to 120fps on a PS5 or Xbox Series X without screen tearing. The C4 also supports variable refresh rate (VRR) and auto low latency mode (ALLM). How does the 2024 C4 compare to the 2025 C5?

LG recently introduced its new C5 OLED TV for 2025. It improves on the C4 with an upgraded Alpha a9 Gen8 processor and a higher peak brightness level—the latter being the more impactful upgrade. The increased peak brightness allows the C5 to deliver a slightly better contrast ratio, a somewhat wider color gamut, improved glare and reflection handling, and better performance in very bright, sunlit rooms. However, these enhancements do not currently justify the substantial price gap.
