Second Life, the popular MMO, launches its public beta for iOS and Android! Premium subscribers can access it now. Free access details are yet to be announced.
Second Life, the social MMO recently announced for mobile, is now available in public beta on iOS and Android. Download it from the App Store and Google Play.
Access currently requires a Premium account. While not a free trial for newcomers, this beta significantly increases the flow of information about the mobile version.
For those unfamiliar, Second Life is a pioneering MMO emphasizing social interaction rather than combat or exploration. Released in 2003, it predates the current metaverse hype and introduced concepts like social gaming and user-generated content to the mainstream. Players create and live out virtual lives as chosen personas.

Is it too late? Second Life's legacy is undeniable, but its outdated subscription model and competition from games like Roblox raise questions about its relevance.
