Madden NFL 26 Sets Release Date, Coming to Nintendo Switch 2, Skips PS4 and Xbox One
Electronic Arts has officially announced the release date for the latest installment in the Madden NFL series, marking a significant shift to the current generation of gaming consoles. Madden NFL 26 is set to launch on August 14, 2025. Fans who pre-order the Deluxe Edition will enjoy a three-day early access period, beginning on August 11. The game will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, PC via the EA app for Windows, Steam, and Epic Games Store, and the newly announced Nintendo Switch 2.
This marks the first time the Madden NFL series will be available on Nintendo's hybrid console, showcasing EA's commitment to expanding the franchise's reach. However, this shift also means that the game will no longer support the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, as Madden NFL 26 focuses solely on the latest console technology.
Several pre-order options are available to cater to different player preferences. Notably, there's a loyalty offer for those who have played Madden NFL 25, 24, or 23, offering a 10% discount on their purchase along with a 99 OVR Player Pack for Madden NFL 25 Ultimate Team. Additionally, the MVP Bundle combines the Deluxe Editions of both Madden NFL 26 and the upcoming EA College Football 26 into a comprehensive package.
The Deluxe Edition of Madden NFL 26 comes packed with several enticing pre-order bonuses, including:
- 3 Day Early Access (August 11-14)
- 4600 Madden Points
- Early Access Ultimate Team™ Solo Challenges
- Season 1 Elite Player Item (Pre-order before July 24th to receive this)
- Cover Athlete Elite MUT Player Item
- Superstar Legendary XP Boost
- Player Card Exclusive Item
- Franchise Coach Ability Points
Alongside the Madden NFL 26 announcement, EA also confirmed the launch date for EA College Football 26, set to debut on July 10, 2025, exclusively on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S. This move underscores EA's focus on delivering high-quality gaming experiences tailored to the latest console hardware.
