No Man's Sky: Your Guide to Finding, Farming, and Crafting Solanium

Solanium, a crucial resource in No Man's Sky, is exclusively found on planets with specific climates. This guide covers gathering, farming, and crafting methods to ensure a steady supply.

Finding Solanium

Locating Solanium

Unlike Frost Crystals, Solanium thrives on hot and arid planets. Before landing, use your starship scanner to identify planets with descriptions like "Arid," "Incandescent," "Boiling," or "Scorched." The scanner will also indicate Solanium availability.

Solar Vine Location

Once on the planet, deploy your Analysis Visor to locate Solar Vines—tall, rock-like structures with glowing vines. These are abundant in specific areas. Remember, you'll need a Haz-Mat Gauntlet to harvest them. While there, collect Phosphorus deposits if available; they're essential for crafting Solanium.

Farming Solanium

Hydroponic Tray

After completing the Farmer's Agricultural Research mission, you can cultivate Solar Vines at your base. Use a Hydroponic Tray or Bio-Dome, planting them with 50 Solanium and 50 Phosphorus. Hot planets allow direct ground planting. Harvesting takes roughly 16 real-time hours.

Crafting Solanium

Refiner

The Refiner offers several Solanium crafting recipes, mostly using Phosphorus (obtained from hot planets or Galactic Trade Terminals). Here are the recipes:

  • Solanium + Phosphorus (to create more Solanium)
  • Phosphorus + Oxygen
  • Phosphorus + Sulphurine
  • Di-hydrogen + Sulphurine

Note that all recipes, including those using Sulphurine, necessitate a visit to a hot planet. Establishing a Phosphorus farm at your base ensures a consistent Sulphurine supply.
