Marvel Rivals to Add 2 Heroes Every 3 Months
NetEase Games is committed to keeping the excitement alive for Marvel Rivals players through regular updates. The developers plan to roll out an update approximately every six weeks, introducing two new heroes each quarter. This approach ensures that players always have fresh content to explore when they return to the game.
In an insightful interview, game director Guangyun Chen revealed that each seasonal update is divided into two parts. During the first half of the season, one new hero is added, followed by a second hero in the latter half. This strategy keeps both the audience and players engaged throughout the season.
Beyond new heroes, Marvel Rivals will also enhance gameplay with updates featuring new maps, stories, and objectives. Characters like Blade, who is yet to be playable, and Altron, known from leaks, have already been introduced. Additionally, the entire Fantastic Four team has recently been unveiled, adding to the roster of exciting characters.
The game has been a financial success, generating around $100 million globally, with significant earnings from the Chinese market, as reported by GameLook. Marvel, a powerhouse in the film industry, has successfully transitioned into the gaming world with this title.
Marvel Rivals has effectively filled a gap in the game-service genre, especially following the less successful venture with Square Enix's Avengers. The NetEase studio has delivered a high-quality heroic shooter, featuring a compelling cast of characters, which has been well-received since its launch.
