Marvel Rivals Now Releasing New Heroes Every Month Starting Season 3

Marvel Rivals developers have unveiled an exciting new plan to keep the game vibrant and engaging by introducing new heroes every month starting from Season 3. This significant shift in their content release strategy was announced by Creative Director Guangguang and Lead Combat Designer Zhiyong during the Marvel Rivals’ Dev Vision Vol. 05 on April 4. They aim to maintain the game's freshness, akin to its launch, by accelerating the introduction of new characters and shortening the duration of each season from three months to two.

Guangguang elaborated, "After extensive internal discussions and thorough evaluation, we’ve decided that starting from Season 3, the seasons will shift to a two-month format, with a new hero debuting each month." This approach is a response to player feedback and the pressure to keep the game exciting, as seen in discussions on social media. The developers are also exploring the addition of new game modes to enhance the experience further, potentially leading to up to 12 new heroes added annually.

Season 2, themed around the Hellfire Gala, introduces Emma Frost, an X-Men villain with telepathic abilities and the power to transform objects into diamonds. She will join the game as a Vanguard. The season features a luxurious celebration on the Mutant haven of the Living Island Krakoa, with new skins for characters like Luna Snow, Magneto, Cloak and Dagger, and Black Panther, all dressed in fancy and formal attire. The Hellfire Gala draws inspiration from Marvel’s Hellfire Club, a society of the wealthy and influential.

Following Emma Frost's debut, Season 2.5 will see the introduction of Ultron, a well-known Marvel villain. The Hellfire Gala trailer hints at a dramatic turn of events, with Ultron robots crashing the party and initiating the Age of Ultron.
