Marvel Rivals Rank Reset Reversed Amid Controversy
Dive into the latest developments in Marvel Rivals as the game responds to player feedback regarding rank resets. This article explores the changes and upcoming updates, ensuring players stay informed and engaged.
Marvel Rivals Backtracks On Their Player Rank Reset
Dev Talk 11 Updates on Seasonal Rank Adjustments
Marvel Rivals has made a significant U-turn on their approach to player rank resets after receiving substantial feedback from the community. The official Marvel Rivals Twitter (X) account announced a reversal of the previous update plans detailed in Dev Talk 10, which had proposed a mid-season rank reset dropping players down four divisions every 45 days.
In response to the outcry from fans, who argued that such frequent resets were demotivating, especially for those striving to climb the ranks, Marvel Rivals introduced a new policy with Dev Talk 11. The game will no longer implement a rank reset at the mid-season point. Instead, players will keep their scores and ranks from the first half of the season. However, at the end of the season, a reset will still occur, with players dropping down six divisions.
Human Torch, The Thing, And Other Updates Still On The Way
While the mid-season rank reset plan has been scrapped, Marvel Rivals continues to roll out exciting updates. The highly anticipated addition of Human Torch and The Thing to the roster, bringing the total to 39 heroes, remains on track. NetEase Games has confirmed that two new playable characters will be introduced each season, which lasts three months.
Furthermore, the rewards system for players achieving Gold rank and above will remain unchanged, with those reaching these levels receiving a free Invisible Woman costume. Players ranked Grandmaster and above will also receive Crests of Honor to acknowledge their achievements. At the end of the season, new rewards await those who reach Gold rank, including another free costume and additional Crests of Honor for Grandmaster and above. Although balance adjustments are expected after the mid-season update, specific details are yet to be disclosed.
Marvel Rivals Community Support
Marvel Rivals has demonstrated a swift response to community feedback, addressing concerns within hours of the initial announcement. The game's developers posted Dev Talk 11 shortly after Dev Talk 10, highlighting their commitment to listening to player feedback. In their statement, Marvel Rivals emphasized, "We strive to make Marvel Rivals the best game it can be, and the community is the driving force behind this mission! [...] Your engagement and support mean the world to us, and we're excited to continue this journey together!"
The next Marvel Rivals mid-season update is scheduled for February 21, 2025. The game is currently available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. For the latest updates and more information, visit our Marvel Rivals page.
