"Marvel Rivals Season 2 Enhances Team-Up Abilities and Skins"
Marvel Rivals Season 2 is set to introduce exciting enhancements to team-up skills and a fresh lineup of character skins, including the highly anticipated Spider-Punk 2099 and Steam Power Iron Man. As the game continues to evolve under NetEase's development, fans can expect a more dynamic combat experience that emphasizes teamwork and hero synergy.
Marvel Rivals Season 2: Enhanced Team-Up Skills

In a recent interview with PC Gamer on March 14, Game Director Guangyun Chen confirmed that Season 2 will feature new team-up skills alongside adjustments to existing ones. He shared, “Starting from Season 2, we will introduce new Team-Up skills with the seasonal update and adjust some existing ones. Together with seasonal overall balance adjustments, this will create a new combat environment and experience for the season.”
Currently, Marvel Rivals offers 17 unique team-up abilities, such as Ragnarok Rebirth (Hela with Loki or Thor), Lunar Force (Cloak & Dagger with Moon Knight), and Allied Agents (Hawkeye with Black Widow). With the ever-expanding roster of playable heroes, introducing and balancing these collaborative mechanics becomes increasingly complex. However, the development team remains committed to delivering engaging and strategic gameplay options in each new season.
Hero Balance Strategy in Marvel Rivals

Maintaining competitive balance is a top priority as new characters are added to the game. Chen explained the approach: “First, we closely monitor key metrics across different modes—Quick Match, Competitive Mode, and tournaments. We analyze data like win rates, pick rates, damage dealt, healing output, damage taken, and final blows for heroes at various skill levels.”
He further added, “We also examine hero composition trends and their associated win rates to guide our overall balance direction. Lastly, we actively listen to community feedback to ensure player sentiment is reflected in our decisions.”
In an earlier interview with Metro in January, Chen revealed that a new hero would be introduced every half-season. Given that each season lasts around three months, this means Marvel Rivals plans to add up to eight new heroes annually. The development team has already completed designs for Seasons 3 and 4, with intensive development underway. As Chen assured, “The content for Season 2 is ready and set to go. Designs for Seasons 3 and 4 have been finalized and are now in active development. Overall, everything is progressing smoothly.”
This long-term roadmap aligns with NetEase’s commitment to support Marvel Rivals for a decade or more, ensuring players enjoy continuous updates and evolving gameplay experiences.
New Skins Coming March 20
Spider-Man and Iron Man fans have even more to look forward to with the arrival of two exclusive skins launching on March 20 at 7 PM PDT / 10 PM EDT / March 21 at 2:00 AM UTC.
- Spider-Punk 2099: A futuristic skin featuring a digital mask, spiked mohawk, and an electric guitar.
- Steam Power Iron Man: A steampunk-inspired design complete with large exhaust pipes and a burning furnace on the chest.
Both skins were previously seen during the game’s closed beta and have been highly requested by the community. This release follows the successful introduction of Loki’s Presidential outfit, which was also showcased during beta testing before becoming available in the live game.
While the official release date has been announced, pricing details remain undisclosed. Fans are encouraged to stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.
As Marvel Rivals wraps up Season 1, anticipation builds for what Season 2 will bring. With enhanced team-up mechanics, balanced hero playstyles, and stylish new skins, the game continues to expand its universe and deepen the superhero battle experience.
Marvel Rivals is currently available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. For the latest news and updates, keep following our coverage [ttpp].
