Marvel Rivals Showcases Sanctum Sanctorum Map Coming in Season 1
Marvel Rivals Unveils Season 1's Sanctum Sanctorum Map: A First Look
Season 1 of Marvel Rivals, "Eternal Night Falls," launching January 10th at 1 AM PST, introduces a thrilling new map: the Sanctum Sanctorum. This iconic location will host the game's new Doom Match mode, a chaotic free-for-all battle royale for 8-12 players where the top half emerge victorious.
This isn't the only new addition; Midtown and Central Park will also join the roster. Midtown will feature a new convoy mission, while details on Central Park remain scarce, with its arrival expected mid-season.
The Sanctum Sanctorum itself is a visual feast, blending opulent décor with the surreal. A recently released video showcases floating kitchenware, a bizarre refrigerator inhabitant, winding staircases, levitating bookshelves, and powerful artifacts. Even Doctor Strange himself is present, albeit in a cheerful portrait. The trailer also offers a surprise cameo: Wong, a beloved character making his Marvel Rivals debut, and a glimpse of Doctor Strange's spectral canine companion, Bats. The level of detail is clearly a point of pride for the developers.
The season's narrative centers around Dracula's machinations against Doctor Strange, setting the stage for The Fantastic Four's intervention. Mister Fantastic and Invisible Woman arrive with Season 1, while Human Torch and The Thing join the fray in the mid-season update. With Dracula's sinister plot and the arrival of these iconic heroes, Marvel Rivals' Season 1 promises an exciting chapter for players.
