Marvel's small-screen adaptations have a rich history, spanning from the classic "Incredible Hulk" to the more recent Netflix series featuring Daredevil and Luke Cage. While previous attempts to integrate these shows into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) often faltered, Marvel Studios launched a new era in 2021 with interconnected Disney+ series. With "Spider-Man: Freshman Year" (the 13th Disney+ Marvel show) on the horizon, we've ranked the previous 12.

Disney+ Marvel TV Shows Ranked

  1. Secret Invasion

Disney+
Widely considered the weakest Marvel Studios series to date, "Secret Invasion" fell short of expectations. Despite the source material's significance in Marvel Comics, the series lacked a compelling narrative, hampered by slow pacing, a questionable opening sequence, and questionable character choices. The director's unfamiliarity with the comics resulted in a missed opportunity to adapt this pivotal storyline.

The attempt to emulate the espionage thriller tone of "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" proved unsuccessful. Nick Fury's battle against a Skrull invasion lacked the necessary tension and impact, leaving the series at the bottom of our ranking.

  1. Echo

Disney+
A significant improvement over "Secret Invasion," "Echo" still ranks lower due to a shortened episode count that left some viewers wanting more. Alaqua Cox's portrayal of the deaf Cheyenne superhero is compelling, and the series features impressive action sequences, particularly the fight with Daredevil. The show's predominantly indigenous cast and crew is a notable achievement. While not as impactful as other entries, "Echo" remains a unique and emotionally resonant addition to the MCU.

  1. Moon Knight

Disney+
Starring Oscar Isaac, "Moon Knight" features a compelling premise centered around Marc Spector's multiple personalities. The series blends surrealism with action, incorporating elements from various sources. The introduction of Scarlet Scarab as a standout character and strong performances from F. Murray Abraham and Ethan Hawke couldn't elevate the show higher in our rankings. Despite its strengths, "Moon Knight" failed to resonate as strongly as other series.

  1. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier

Disney+
While the chemistry between Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan was a highlight, "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier" fell short of expectations. Murky moral dilemmas, heavy reliance on the Blip storyline, and a focus on espionage over action hindered its impact. Production delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic may have contributed to the final product. Despite this, the series' narrative elements have become crucial to understanding the current state of the MCU.
