Mask Around is the sequel to one of the strangest roguelikes of all time
Mask Around: The Gooey Sequel That Packs a Punch!
Following the 2020 hit, Mask Up, comes its action-packed sequel, Mask Around! Prepare for a blend of intense running, gunning, and brawling action. The iconic yellow ooze returns, but with some surprising new gameplay twists.
For those unfamiliar with the original, Mask Up was a unique roguelike platformer where players evolved from a simple puddle of yellow goo into a powerful, gooey hero. Now, developer Rouli delivers an even more bizarre and exciting experience with Mask Around.
Unlike its predecessor, which focused primarily on 2D brawling, Mask Around introduces 2D shooting mechanics. Players can seamlessly switch between gun battles and close-quarters goo-powered combat, offering a dynamic and versatile gameplay experience.
However, the precious yellow ooze remains a limited resource. Players must carefully manage their goo supply, especially during challenging boss encounters.
More Than Just Goo
Mask Around is currently available on Google Play, with no iOS release announced yet. While I haven't played the original, Mask Around appears to be a significant improvement, retaining the core gameplay while adding substantial new features. Strategic use of both your goo abilities and weaponry is crucial, adding a new layer of challenge. The enhanced graphics also contribute to a more polished overall experience.
Ready to dive into the gooey action? Download Mask Around on Google Play today! And for more mobile gaming recommendations, check out our latest list of the top five new mobile games this week.
