Meta Discontinues Quest Pro VR Headset
The Meta Quest Pro is officially discontinued. Meta's website now reflects its unavailability. This follows earlier announcements predicting its demise by early 2025 due to low sales attributed to its high price point ($1499.99) compared to the more affordable Meta Quest line ($299.99-$499.99). While some remaining units might exist in retail stores, they are expected to sell out quickly.
Meta recommends the Meta Quest 3 as a superior replacement, offering a compelling "ultimate mixed reality experience" at a significantly lower price of $499. The Quest 3 boasts enhanced features over its predecessor, including higher resolution, a faster refresh rate, and a lighter design. Furthermore, the Quest 3 is compatible with the Quest Pro's Touch Pro controllers.
For budget-conscious consumers, the Meta Quest 3S provides a more affordable option starting at $299.99, albeit with slightly reduced specifications.
