David Hayter, the voice of Solid Snake and Big Boss, shared a New Year's greeting on Bluesky, highlighting the Year of the Snake. With a new Metal Gear game on the horizon, 2025 could be a pivotal year for the character. Hayter is set to reprise his role as Solid Snake in the upcoming Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater remake.
The coincidence of 2025 being both the Year of the Snake and the planned release year for the remake is noteworthy. Konami acknowledged this in a YouTube video featuring a Taiko drumming performance and calligraphy of the kanji for "snake," culminating in a bold "SNAKE YEAR" announcement.
Since its May 2024 announcement, including a trailer and Tokyo Game Show demo, updates on Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater have been scarce. However, producer Noriaki Okamura recently told 4Gamer that delivering a high-quality, polished game is a top priority for 2025.
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, a remake of the 2004 classic, is slated for release in 2025 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Expect next-gen enhancements, including the return of Phantom Pain mechanics, along with new voice work from the original cast.
