The release date for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater was officially confirmed during Sony's State of Play 2025 broadcast, set for August 28, 2025. This confirmation came alongside a fresh trailer that had previously leaked through the PlayStation Store. The buzz around this announcement was amplified by the reveal of an exciting collaboration with Ape Escape, hinting at a nod to the original Metal Gear Solid 3's monkey minigame. The teaser concluded with an intriguing "And More" message, suggesting additional crossovers are on the horizon for the game.

The new trailer showcased a shift to a first-person perspective, but Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is otherwise poised to be a faithful recreation of the classic. In our preview, IGN noted, "Metal Gear Solid Delta seems more like a very shiny HD remaster than the elegant remake it could have been. It's an admittedly beautiful nostalgia trip, but almost faithful to a fault." This suggests that while the game will offer stunning visuals, it might not introduce significant changes to the original gameplay.
