What's the Buzz?

Metal Slug: Awakening delivers a modern update to the beloved '90s run-and-gun franchise. Initially revealed in 2020 by TiMi Studios as Metal Slug Code: J, the game has undergone development and name changes, finally arriving after a Southeast Asia release in late 2023.

For those unfamiliar (though we doubt many are!), Metal Slug is a legendary Japanese run-and-gun series, debuting in 1996 courtesy of Nazca Corporation. It's since evolved into a multifaceted media franchise.

While Metal Slug has seen mobile adaptations before (Metal Slug Defense, Attack, and Commander), Awakening promises a significant upgrade.

The game stays true to its roots, retaining the classic shooter mechanics while boasting enhanced graphics and new gameplay features. Expect to see your favorite Metal Slug characters in brand-new missions. Game modes include World Adventure, 3-player cooperative Team-up, and challenging Roguelike experiences.
