Microsoft has officially announced its plans for June, confirming both an Xbox Games Showcase 2025 and a dedicated The Outer Worlds 2 Direct. As is tradition, Microsoft will host its annual June showcase to unveil the latest in Xbox gaming, and this year will be no exception. The Xbox Games Showcase 2025 is set to be livestreamed on Sunday, June 8, starting at 10am Pacific / 1pm Eastern / 6pm UK time.

The Xbox Games Showcase 2025 promises a comprehensive look at upcoming titles from Microsoft’s first-party studios, as well as exciting new releases from third-party partners worldwide. Microsoft has teased a diverse lineup of games in development, including the much-anticipated new Fable, now delayed to 2026, the Perfect Dark reboot, inXile’s Clockwork Revolution, Ninja Gaiden 4, Contraband from the Just Cause developers, Rare's Everwild, The Coalition's Gears of War: E-Day, Hideo Kojima’s OD, and Undead Labs' State of Decay 3. Additionally, Double Fine, the creators of Psychonauts, are working on a new project.

On the Activision Blizzard front, fans can look forward to a new Call of Duty game later this year, alongside various releases from Blizzard. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 is set to launch in July, potentially making an appearance at the showcase. From Bethesda, there's anticipation around what's next for Starfield, including a possible PlayStation 5 release date, and perhaps a glimpse at The Elder Scrolls 6.

There's also the possibility of Microsoft unveiling new Xbox hardware. While a next-gen Xbox console and an Xbox handheld are rumored for 2027, the showcase might offer insights into Xbox-branded handhelds from third-party companies.

Following the Xbox Games Showcase, Microsoft will host The Outer Worlds 2 Direct, continuing the trend set by the 2023 Starfield Direct and 2024 Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Direct. The Outer Worlds 2, developed by Obsidian Entertainment, fresh off the release of Avowed, will be the focus. The direct will provide an in-depth look at new gameplay, details, and developer insights, offering fans a closer look at the sequel to the acclaimed first-person sci-fi RPG. The Outer Worlds 2 is slated for release later in 2025, and a release date announcement is highly anticipated during the showcase.

The Xbox Games Showcase and The Outer Worlds 2 Direct will be digital-only events, with no in-person theater experience for fans and media. However, Microsoft assures that the livestream will deliver all the essential updates on what's next for Xbox, accessible to viewers around the globe.
