Speculation about this compilation started recently, with rumors indicating that it will exclude the franchise's iconic multiplayer mode. Corden has verified these claims, stating that players won’t have access to competitive online play. However, he assures that cooperative gameplay will still be available alongside the main story campaigns.

According to industry whispers, the highly anticipated announcement for the Gears of War Collection could be made as early as the upcoming Xbox Showcase event scheduled for June. While specifics about which titles will be included in the collection are still under wraps, insiders speculate that it may feature the first three entries in the series.
In the meantime, development on the next major installment, Gears of War: E-Day, is progressing using Unreal Engine 5 for PC and Xbox Series X/S platforms. Recent leaks have hinted at a possible launch later this year; however, Corden expresses skepticism about such timing, suggesting a more likely release window of 2026.
