Monster Hunter Now Expands Bases Ahead of 2nd Year

Jan 13,26

Niantic's latest Monster Hunter Now update debuts Exploration Bases, a PokéStop-inspired feature aligning with the game's communal ethos in Season 7.

Hunters now collaborate to enhance local bases by contributing exploration emblems and reports. Collective efforts strengthen these outposts, unlocking shared benefits for all participants.

Understanding Exploration Bases Mechanics

Operating on three-week Waves, these bases offer rewards including +500 Item Box Expansion and 2,000 reputation points per cycle. Leaderboards visually track communal progression.

Designed for inclusivity, Exploration Bases emphasize teamwork over combat stats—welcoming both newcomers and veteran hunters without optimized gear. Developers position this as broadening the hunter experience beyond monster pursuits.

The inaugural Wave launches September 18 through October 13, 2025, featuring 8-star Riftborne Deviljho as the outbreak monster. This formidable foe joins the permanent roster on September 22nd.

Second Anniversary Festivities Underway

From September 14-28, 2025, players can earn special Anniversary Tokens by hunting monsters, confronting elder dragons, and completing event quests. Preview the celebration through the official trailer.

Exchange these tokens for premium rewards including storage expansions and Wyvern Gem Shards at the Event Hub, alongside limited-edition outfits and anniversary exclusives.

Season 7 further introduces riftborne variants like Silver Rathalos and Gold Rathian alongside Deviljho. Available now on Google Play.
