Monster Hunter Wilds Beta Gets Extra 24 Hours After PSN Outage

Feb 23,25

Capcom extends the Monster Hunter Wilds beta following a 24-hour PlayStation Network outage that disrupted the previous test period.

The PSN service interruption, occurring Friday, February 7th at approximately 3 pm PT, lasted for a full day. Sony attributed the outage to an unspecified "operational issue," compensating PlayStation Plus subscribers with an extra five days of service.

This downtime prevented online gameplay and impacted even single-player titles requiring server authentication or a persistent internet connection. Monster Hunter Wilds' highly anticipated second beta, scheduled from February 6th to 9th, was significantly affected.

In response, Capcom announced a 24-hour extension to the upcoming beta session. The new dates are:

Thursday, February 13th, 7 pm PT / Friday, February 14th, 3 am GMT – Monday, February 17th, 6:59 pm PT / Tuesday, February 18th, 2:59 am GMT

Capcom confirmed that participation bonuses, redeemable in the full game, remain available during this extended period.

Despite the previous outage, beta participants engaged with the game's challenging new adversary, Arkveld.

Monster Hunter Wilds officially launches on February 28th, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. For further details on Capcom's latest hunting adventure, consult IGN First coverage, including the Monster Hunter Wilds Final Preview.
