"Monsters Take Center Stage in Sequel to Cards, Universe and Everything"
If there's one thing we've learned about rifts in our time writing about games, it's that they're usually bad news. But Avid Games has fully embraced the awfulness of rifts with their much-anticipated follow-up to the charming tactical CCG, *Cards, the Universe and Everything*. Titled *Eerie Worlds*, this game continues the tradition of fun and learning, but with a thrilling twist: monsters.
In *Eerie Worlds*, monsters emerge from rifts, and Avid Games has crafted a visually diverse array of creatures, all inspired by real-life horrors from mythology and folklore. From Japanese Yokai like Jikininki and Kuchisake to Slavic monsters such as Vodyanoy and Psoglav, the game covers a wide range of folklore. You'll also encounter iconic creatures like Bigfoot, Mothman, the Nandi Bear, El Chupacabra, and many more from around the world. Each card comes with a thoroughly researched description, ensuring you stay engaged and learn something new with every play.

The game features four Alliances—Grimbald, Zerrofel, Rivin, and Synnig—and various Hordes, adding a layer of tactical depth. Monsters within the same Alliance share certain properties, but their Horde affiliations can introduce different dynamics, making each game session unique and challenging.
Your personal monster collection is housed in your Grimoire, which you can level up by merging duplicate cards. With 160 basic cards to start, and the ability to unlock many more through merging, your collection can grow significantly. Avid Games has also promised the addition of two more Hordes in the coming months, ensuring *Eerie Worlds* remains fresh and exciting.

In terms of gameplay, *Eerie Worlds* challenges you to take a deck of nine monster cards and one world card into battle. Over nine 30-second turns, you'll make high-stakes decisions on mana usage and exploit synergies to outsmart your opponents. With so much to master, it's time to dive in and start playing.
*Eerie Worlds* is available for free on the Google Play Store and the App Store. Just click here to start your journey into the world of monsters and rifts.
