How Moonstone Works in Marvel Snap
Moonstone is a 4-cost, 6-power card with the ongoing effect: “Ongoing: Has the Ongoing effects of your 1, 2, and 3-Cost cards here.” This makes her highly synergistic with cards like Ant-Man, Quinjet, Ravonna Renslayer, and Patriot. Combining her with Mystique allows for powerful duplication of ongoing effects, notably those of Iron Man and Onslaught. However, Enchantress completely negates her effects unless countered by Cosmo. Echo is another less common, but significant counter for combo-heavy Moonstone decks.
Best Day One Moonstone Decks
Moonstone excels in decks featuring low-cost Ongoing cards. Two prominent examples are Patriot and Victoria Hand/Devil Dinosaur decks.
Patriot Deck:
Wasp, Ant-Man, Dazzler, Mister Sinister, Invisible Woman, Mystique, Patriot, Brood, Iron Lad, Moonstone, Blue Marvel, Ultron. [Untapped Link Here]
This deck, excluding Moonstone, contains only Series 4 or lower cards. The core strategy involves using Patriot with Mystique, followed by Ultron for a powerful late-game push. Moonstone amplifies this combo significantly. Ant-Man and Dazzler provide additional synergy, while Iron Lad offers card draw. Invisible Woman protects key cards from counters.
Victoria Hand/Devil Dinosaur Deck:
Quicksilver, Hawkeye, Kate Bishop, Victoria Hand, Mystique, Cosmo, Agent Coulson, Copycat, Moonstone, Wiccan, Devil Dinosaur, Gorr the God Butcher, Alioth. [Untapped Link Here]
This deck includes Series 5 cards (Victoria Hand, Wiccan), which are difficult to replace. Copycat can be substituted with a suitable 3-cost card (e.g., Red Guardian, Rocket Raccoon & Groot). The strategy centers around Devil Dinosaur, amplified by Mystique and Victoria Hand. Moonstone adds another layer of complexity, requiring careful placement to maximize synergy with Mystique's copied effect. Cosmo is crucial for countering Enchantress.
Is Moonstone Worth Spotlight Cache Keys or Collector’s Tokens?
Yes. Moonstone's synergy with Mystique and potential integration into Zoo decks makes her a valuable addition with lasting meta impact. Her ongoing effect will continue to be relevant with future Ongoing card releases.
