Netflix Games to see Ginny & George and Sweet Magnolias get the interactive fiction treatment
Netflix Stories expands its interactive fiction library with two popular series: Ginny & Georgia and Sweet Magnolias. These additions allow fans to experience original stories featuring beloved characters from both shows, stepping directly into the worlds they've come to know and love.
Netflix Stories offers interactive visual novels based on popular Netflix series, previously including titles like Emily in Paris and Outer Banks. The addition of Ginny & Georgia and Sweet Magnolias represents a significant expansion of the platform's interactive fiction offerings. These new stories are slated for release this year.
Existing Netflix Stories titles, Love is Blind and Outer Banks, will also receive new story entries, providing fans with even more opportunities to engage with their favorite shows in a unique interactive format.
Livin' it large
Netflix Games' continued investment in Stories is a smart strategy. Many Netflix series aren't easily adapted into traditional video games, making interactive fiction a perfect fit for expanding their gaming service and engaging viewers. The melodramatic nature of these shows lends itself well to this interactive storytelling format.
While the new Stories entries coincide with new seasons of the respective shows, the delayed release—several years after the initial series—is somewhat disappointing. Ideally, these interactive experiences would launch concurrently with new seasons for maximum cross-promotion.
