As announced by Netflix Tudum, The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep will debut on Netflix on February 11, 2025. This animated feature draws inspiration from Andrzej Sapkowski's short story, "A Little Sacrifice," found in the Sword of Destiny collection.

In this film, the narrative unfolds in a picturesque seaside village, embroiled in a centuries-old conflict between humans and merpeople. This setting marks a departure from the usual fare of Basilisks and Cockatrices, as Geralt finds himself pitted against these aquatic beings.

Doug Cockle returns to lend his voice to Geralt, with Joey Batey and Anya Chalotra reprising their roles as Jaskier and Yennefer of Vengerberg, respectively. Christina Wren, known from the *Will Trent* TV series, joins the cast to voice the new character, Essi Daven.

Andrzej Sapkowski, the mastermind behind the Witcher novels, serves as a creative consultant for the film. The screenplay is crafted by Mike Ostrowski and Rae Benjamin, writers from the live-action series, while Kang Hei Chul, who worked on The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf, directs this animated venture.

Takes Place During Season 1 of The Witcher’s Live-Adaptation Series

Sirens of the Deep is set to fill the narrative gap between episodes 5 and 6 of The Witcher's first season. In episode 5, "Bottled Appetites," Geralt and Yennefer's paths cross in Rinde, a Redanian city, following their encounter with a Djinn. Post-reunion, Geralt is commissioned by an unnamed kingdom to tackle a monstrous issue plaguing its shores.

Given Rinde's proximity to the coastlines of Redania and Temeria, it's speculated that the movie's events occur in this region. Specifically, the setting might align with Bremervoord City in Temeria, ruled by Duke Agloval, as described in "A Little Sacrifice." Fans are keen to see if the film will adhere closely to the original short story's setting and plot.
