Nintendo Switch 2 Logo Leaks, Surfacing Rumors

Feb 11,25

A purported Nintendo Switch 2 logo leak may have revealed the console's official name. Numerous rumors and leaks have circulated regarding Nintendo's next-generation console since President Shuntaro Furukawa confirmed its existence in early 2024. A full unveiling is anticipated before March 2025, with a launch expected later this year.

The timing of the release has been widely speculated since Furukawa's May 2024 announcement, but Nintendo has remained largely silent. While the name "Nintendo Switch 2" isn't officially confirmed, most leaks point towards it. Many rumors suggest a similar design to the original Switch, hinting at a direct successor strategy.

Comicbook reports a logo leak shared on Bluesky by Necro Felipe of Universo Nintendo. This logo closely resembles the original Switch logo, featuring stylized Joy-Cons above "Nintendo Switch," with the only difference being a "2" added next to the Joy-Cons. This seemingly confirms the widely used placeholder name, "Nintendo Switch 2," as the official title.

Is it Really the Switch 2?

The logo's authenticity remains unverified, and some doubt the "Nintendo Switch 2" name. Nintendo's history includes consoles with vastly different names from their predecessors, the Wii U being a notable example. The Wii U's unconventional name is speculated to have negatively impacted sales, potentially prompting a more straightforward approach for the Switch 2.

Previous leaks appear to support Felipe's leaked logo and name, but gamers should treat all current rumors as unconfirmed until official confirmation. A recent social media post hints at a potentially imminent reveal of the highly anticipated Nintendo Switch 2.
