"Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller Halves Charging Time"
The Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller promises to revolutionize your gaming experience with its enhanced charging capabilities. As highlighted by Nintendo Life, the newly released tech specs of the $84.99 Switch 2 Pro Controller reveal that it will take approximately three-and-a-half hours to fully charge, utilizing the Nintendo Switch 2 AC adapter or the USB-C charging cable. This is a significant improvement, cutting the charging time almost in half from the original Pro Controller's six hours.
Even better, this faster charging doesn't compromise the exceptional battery life of the Pro Controller. The Switch 2 Pro Controller maintains the impressive 40-hour battery life between charges, just like its predecessor. Additionally, it introduces a new C button, along with two additional GL/GR buttons on the underside, and is designed to be slightly lighter and smaller than the original version.

For those still attached to their original controllers, there's good news: Nintendo has confirmed that the original controller will be compatible with the new console system. This means you can enjoy the latest technology without having to completely replace your existing gear.
Nintendo unveiled the Switch 2 during a comprehensive 60-minute Nintendo Direct earlier this month. Although pre-orders were initially planned to open in early April in the U.S., due to tariff-related uncertainties, Nintendo had to delay the pre-order date to April 24. Amidst these delays, Nintendo has kept the $449.99 price point for the Switch 2 console and its games, but raised prices on most Switch 2 accessories, including bumping the Switch 2 Pro Controller from $80 to $85.
