Nintendo Switch 2 Supports 120fps, Up to 4K Resolution Docked
After years of speculation, the long-awaited details about Nintendo's upgraded console, the Nintendo Switch 2, have finally been unveiled, and the results are more impressive than many expected. The new system boasts support for 120fps and up to 4K resolution when docked, setting a new standard for handheld gaming.
During today's Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, Nintendo showcased numerous features of the new system. The Nintendo Switch 2 features a larger 7.9-inch screen compared to its predecessor, while maintaining the same thickness of 13.9mm. This screen offers double the pixels of the original Switch, supporting a 1080p display in handheld mode at up to 120fps. It also utilizes an LCD screen with HDR capabilities, which extends to 4K resolution and HDR when docked.The Joy-Con 2 controllers have been upgraded with a magnetic connection system and can be detached by pressing a release button on the back. The SL and SR buttons on the sides are now larger, enhancing the gaming experience when played horizontally. Additionally, the left and right sticks have been enlarged for better control. This segment also officially introduced mouse control support within the Joy-Con controllers.
The handheld version of the Nintendo Switch 2 comes equipped with a built-in microphone featuring noise-canceling technology and supports 3D audio for compatible games. It also includes a larger, more robust adjustable stand than the original Switch, allowing for various viewing angles. A top USB port is available for external camera connectivity or to charge the system while in tabletop mode.
Lastly, the Nintendo Switch 2 is equipped with 256GB of internal storage, providing ample space for your gaming library.
