"Nintendo Switch 2 Unveiled with Zelda Speedrun Applause"
A speedrunner for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild achieved an impressive feat at the Nintendo Switch 2 Experience in Japan, completing the critically-acclaimed RPG in just under 10 minutes. As reported by VGC, Japanese content creator Ikaboze used an existing save file, despite not knowing what equipment Link was equipped with. In a bold move, Ikaboze decided to "defeat the final boss while tied up completely naked and with all my equipment removed." He loaded a save that directly took him to the final confrontation with Ganon, whom he defeated in just seven minutes, prompting spontaneous applause from onlookers.
Ikaboze shared on social media:

This achievement was all the more impressive given the unfamiliar controller and the noisy convention environment, which prevented Ikaboze from hearing the game's audio.
“I was surprised by how many people had gathered,” Ikaboze remarked. “Staff were even filming on their smartphones. This was the first time anyone had completed the Breath of the Wild demo, and staff congratulated me."
The Nintendo Switch 2 Enhanced Edition of Breath of the Wild boasts improved visuals and performance, achievements, and integrates with the new "Zelda Notes" service via the Nintendo Switch Online app. Owners of the original Switch version can upgrade to these new features with a $10 "upgrade pack." Both Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom upgrade packs are available at no extra cost for Nintendo Switch Online and Expansion Pack subscribers.
Here's a look at the pricing for the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition games in the U.S. for those not upgrading:
- Kirby and The Forgotten Land - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Star Crossed World - $79.99
- The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition - $69.99
- Super Mario Party Jamboree - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Jamboree TV - $79.99
- The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition - $79.99
Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders opened on April 24, with the console priced at $449.99. The demand was as high as anticipated, leading Nintendo to warn U.S. customers who pre-ordered via the My Nintendo Store that release date delivery is not guaranteed due to the overwhelming demand.
